Givenchy crowds the top of Amarige with seven separate floral and fruit materials, an intensely dense opening for a fragrance now considered a modern classic. Orange blossom, peach, plum, neroli, Brazilian rosewood, violet and mandarin orange crowd the opening into a bright, layered fruit-floral burst rarely matched at this scale. Tuberose, mimosa, gardenia, ylang-ylang, jasmine, black locust, carnation, black currant, red berries, rose, cassia and orchid build an enormous floral center, the kind of density most modern florals never attempt. Sandalwood, amber, woody notes, vanilla, musk, tonka bean and cedar close things out warm and layered, giving Amarige Eau de Toilette its signature soft, long-lasting conclusion. Floral is the fitting classification on its own, polished enough for evening wear yet workable on a cooler daytime occasion too. It suits dinners, celebrations and date nights about equally well. Fall and winter favor the woody, ambered close most, though the fruity top keeps it wearable into spring. Twelve materials in the center stage alone makes this one of the more ambitious florals in this entire catalog.
